Fort Point Museum protects and displays historically significant information and
artifacts from the LaHave River area. Our collection includes archeological finds
from the days of early French settlement and items from the homes of German and English
settlers. The local Mi'kmaq native history and their relationship with the French
is well known and detailed. Highlighted also are stories of traditional trades from
fishing and transport during the 'Age of Sail', to agriculture, and lumbering which
were the bases of the early economy. Below are a few items you can see in our current
